I agree with agbenny. I just installed ffmpeg and it runs a dream. Very fast and a huge list of encoding options. The only downside (for some people) is it's run on the command line.

On2 do a product thats $40 (can't remember what it's called). It has the advantage over most other cheap flv convertors that it uses the superior vp6 codec which gives much higher quality than the typical flv codec used (sorenson spark h263) FFmpeg in newer versions can convert to h264, which is very good quality and can be played by the latest flash player version. There are free guis available for ffmpeg, just search ffmpeg+gui

The one that I always use is Super. It's free and has always worked for any file I needed to convert. [erightsoft.com...]
