The Commission said setting the Digital Video Broadcasting Handheld (DVB-H) as the preferred European Union standard would give the industry a boost. "For mobile TV to take off in Europe, there must first be certainty about the technology," European Telecoms Commissioner Viviane Reding said in a statement on Monday. |

msg:3604641 | 11:59 pm on Mar 18, 2008 (gmt 0) | Glad to see the standard before they start to sell to consumers (I'm sure many owners of a HD-DVD player feel like they were taken advantage of byt he industry,) But I doubt many website owners will be able to use it to communicate with visitors. It's much more likely the network operators will stream content to their subscribers.
