Seeing more sites with cookie warning popups Has anything changed to bring this on denisl
Over the last month or two, I seem to be seeing a lot more sites with warning popups about cookies, giving the option (I assume) to opt out. This cookie law apeared to be a bit of a damp sqib last year - haas anything changed recently?
Was there a time limit on the law? Ordinarily laws don't go into effect the very instant they're enacted; there's a particular date, either express or implied. So all the sites that didn't want to pay a developer for half an hour's work have waited until they can get it done by a summer intern or a visiting nephew :) engine
No deadline at all. You're right, a damp squib. UK's ICO Changes Cookie Law Policy To Implied Consent [ webmasterworld.com] It's now so watered down that it's as good as meaningless, imho. It's now become irritating to see those popups. piatkow
I have seen a lot more recently too, it gets really annoying. engine
That's right, piatkow, and because us folks clear our cookies regularly, we keep getting the messages. I hope it's annoying the bureaucrats, too, as they devised it. piatkow
