Anyone know what InfoSpace are doing with MetaCrawler in the UK?

I find that all attempts to go to www.metacrawler.co.uk now divert to the German - language, regionalised version at www.metacrawler.de.

I can still conduct metasearches aimed at UK sites (hosted or content) but it tends to favour German - language results as one would expect.

Or is it just me? Maybe my ISP's localisation has changed to Germany?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

metacrawler is German owned, and automatically switches to Germany. It's not you. ;)
I'm not sure when they switched that, but, at a guess about the middle of last year.

Thanks for your reply, engine.

I take it they simply don't offer a UK localisation any more? I thought perhaps they were developing a new look similar to that of the www.metacrawler.com interface in the US.

Any suggestions for an alternative meta-crawler with a UK "preference" or bias?

For the record, metacrawler.com is owned by a different company to metacrawler.co.uk
