Attended the UK Domain channel conference today, a very interesting event overall, nice to meet a few WebmasterWorld members there.

Some very good presentations (yeah I know its not my usual style to sit through presentations - but this event was outside of the usual remit of the SEO world)

A couple of the PPC providers were amongst the sponsors and the monetisation panel really said nothing we haven't heard before. On the other hand the discussion on domain disputes was useful, as was a presentation by nominet on how they see the UK namespace developing. Also good was the presentation on buying and selling domain names, particularly from Angus Hanton regarding the UK namespace.

Most interesting was the fact that many domainers are now looking at content building and SEO as a way of monetising domains (and also protecting themselves from trademark disputes on generics)

If you are an SEO doing client work in the UK then then future events along the same lines could hold some interesting opportunities.

Finally many thanks to David Brayshaw and Name Drive for organising the event.
