Bad move because developers build the ecosystem that keeps the platform thriving.
Chase off your developers and they'll just find something else, like Facebook perhaps.

They are trying to tighten up the noose on spamming, but there is a fine line when it comes to alienating people into developing elsewhere due to lawsuits or t&c's
