Two of my clients are transit authorities and they use Twitter to announce route delays and such. Another client who is an industry specific directory, uses it to announce new listings. Otherwise, most of my clients use it to announce specials or new products on their sites. Marshall

: It helps me to improve my writing skills.Because it's the most addictive social game on the internet at the moment. And to share cool stuff. For research and to gauge public perception of certain technologies before I write about them - and to vent spleen too. Twitter = RSS. All my favourite sources (be that the publication or the journos themselves) have a Twitter feed. For communications with customers/visitors, for news (specialised, eg flowers or SEO or Forex, and general), plus sharing tidbits plus for fun.

From my website I post a "picture of the day" to Twitter, with a link back to the site. Simple but effective: the postings get RT's and actually drive traffic to the site. But the best is that the account attracts followers interested in the site's subject. They talk with me, I talk with them. That isn't just fun but also helps me to improve the site.

Good concept, there is no magic wand, engaging user with adapted comments and quality content is always the key.
