Twitter has 200 million users, $360 million in venture capital and a valuation of $3.7 billion.
And it’s looking as if the company can add something else to its résumé: real revenue. Twitter is on track to earn $150 million in advertising revenue this year, according to estimates from eMarketer, a research firm.
Though Twitter’s advertising revenue is dwarfed by Facebook’s, it will most likely triple this year, up from $45 million last year. It could reach $250 million in 2012, eMarketer said in its first report to analyze Twitter ads.
