twitter says i'm "More like engine"

 12:49 am on Oct 28, 2010 (gmt 0)

is anyone else seeing the "More like [twittername]" list in the right column on twitter profiles?
i hadn't seen it mentioned before.

i first noticed it when i looked at @engine's profile and discovered i'm the only "More like engine" listed.
i'm flattered but it seems like a failure in twitter's algo.
as if to suggest that i follow myself?
perhaps the algo ignores who is viewing the profile.

my profile shows that jill sampey and shawn rorick are "More like" me.
who is "More like" you?
have you discovered who you are "More like"?

it would be interesting to figure out what the signals are for that and how it differs from the "Who to follow" list.

Not seeing this on mine, but when I looked at mattcutts, I could see "Similar to @mattcutts" and it mentioned bruceclayinc.

Similarly, on your full profile I see "Similar to" and there are three people Joe Laratro, Richard Zwicky and Kenny Hyder. But no "More like".

Perhaps it's a good thing there isn't anyone else like me. :)

i just notice the "view all" link and that page links to 5 users:
"These are people who tweet about the same things that Matt Cutts does."
[my emphasis]

from the sampling i tried, 5-7 seems to be a typical number in the "More like" list, but i've seen as few as 1 and as many as 15.
(assuming all with 0 tweets have 0 in "More like")

I was looking at that the other day and was trying to figure out exactly what the link was, besides the obvious. I did get one or two 'more like' which were not immediateley obvious.
