One lesson I've learned over the years is that two SEO people can build the same site at the same time with the same content and produce widely varying results. Extra research is often needed to discover key elements that might give you an extra edge; either now or in the future.
Published papers, statistics, and research, by both academics and search engine employees, often provide clues to enhancing search engine marketing research.
