Setting some time aside to browse around here is a good start. Might seem a bit confusing at first because there just isn't a "table of contents" on the basics but there are many great old/recent threads that cover them. Each forum has a library where many of those topics are "bookmarked". Also, there are loads of guides/blogs out there that do offer this sort of information and tips on an up-to-date basis. But be sure to double check that information with other sources. What one person states as fact might be just a rumor or lie, or vice versa.

1) The quality of information you will receive on WebMasterWorld is above average when compared to other SEO forums. In regards to reading previously written posts and asking specific questions you are in a good place. 2) Because of WebmasterWorld's quality guidelines it is impossible to write adequately about specific non-WebmasterWorld resources. For this you must visit other web sites. 3) To best prepare yourself for WebmasterWorld read some SEO tutorials from credible sources. There are several free ones on the Web and figuring out which are credible is not difficult. (It may help to ask for suggestions on other forums.) Write down a list of specific questions then, here on the WebmasterWorld forum, search through the previous postings and ask new questions. FYI: To search WebmasterWorld use Google and use queries in the format of site:www.webmasterworld.com 15k a day
