If only the new Bod at the top would turn his machette to the bot department. 18000 fewer would be advantageous.

LARTing the people in Bing who cannot read and understand the Sitemap protocol and the importance of the update dates in the index files might also be helpful to those of us who actually run large websites rather than spoof and waffle about it in blog posts like that Microsoftie did recently.

FWIW, Insitesbot is coming around two or three times a day, always 138.91.73.109, never robots.txt, always 403'd.

Almost 4 months later, and no word from Microsoft on what that critter is, googling it returns this thread as the only serious discussion on Insitesbot?

Still hitting my 403
15 to 30 sec between visits
Still not a single curious visit to robots.txt

Interestingly it is only crawling pages known to Bing, as I have sections in my robots.txt allowed only to Googlebot and no one else.
