System: The following 3 messages were cut out of thread at: http://www.webmasterworld.com/search_engine_spiders/4660478.htm [webmasterworld.com] by incredibill - 8:30 am on Apr 9, 2014 (PST -8)

Bill, would it be a lot of work to put up links in the other direction too? "Continued in this thread..." as the last post.

I did just add this in the last post on the previous thread but I can't edit any older threads.

Will do this moving forward.

if you want to put together the chronological list of these threads it should be simple for an admin or forum mod to add any missing prev/next links.
this WebmasterWorld internal search [webmasterworld.com] might be helpful for getting that list.

the most generally useful thing would be a pinned thread/post listing all the Server Farm threads and this could be updated as each new thread is split off.
a list for each thread highlighting any notable information would be useful.

just sayin, if someone wanted to put that post together to start the thread...

Oh, gosh, our local search is working again. Who knew? :)

The most recent five are

[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...] (May 2013)
[webmasterworld.com...] (March 2013)

Beyond that, site search starts to fall apart. Surely we've been running these threads longer than May 2012?

We used to run various threads on various server farms and they were scattered all over the place.

A couple of years ago (2012) wilderness posted a thread about Elron Tech and it went off topic with all sorts of additional data center information so I decided to use it as the First Server Farm Thread [webmasterworld.com] with all the combined server data and we've been doing it that way ever since.

Since the members seemed to prefer piling more off topic information on any thread about any hosting company I decided it made more sense to simply make Server Farms the topic and the Server Farm thread was born.

It also makes it easier to find the data in a handful of threads vs. sorting through lots of threads IMO.

Someone is even compiling this information and has made a nicely organized database which makes it even easier to use:
[webcentrifuge.com...]

Now if there was only an EXPORT button on that site to download a list of CIDR's you could feed it into our FREE Block IP Tool [freetools.webmasterworld.com] and easily build htaccess code to block those sites.
