Anybody ever seen it?
Nothing in the archives, however plenty on a main-google.
Appears to function similar to MSSmartTags.

"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/536.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/19.0.1084.56 Safari/536.5 SmartLinksAddon"

In addition to visitors IP, requests are replicated from multiple Amazon AWS IP's.

I've got it with a firefox UA from AWS (only the one this month):

IP: 50.19.7.233
Proxy: 1.1 squid00.mashlogic.local:3128 (squid/2.7.STABLE9)
US: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0 SmartLinksAddon

How it arrived I can't say without examining the full logs - this was from a log of banned IPs (which includes all AWS).

It looks as though it's related to some AWS-based spider, which are all blocked anyway.

I have now blocked UAs containing SmartLinksAddon.

Many thanks dstiles.

A common term within the UA catches a 403 from my sites.

It's initiated by a visitor with a different IP and standard browser prior to the 1st SmartLinksAddon request, however later the AWS IP's return on their own.

50.16.42.187
50.16.123.255
107.22.130.212

Today the visitor (standard browser) returned with a different page request.
No supporting images or files requested (did so on yesterdays requests)
Caught a 403 becuase I denied his IP.
97.89.160.zz

Then immediately followed with:
50.16.123.255
