Has anyone else noticed Yahoo Site Explorer hits their site with Bogus User-Agents? I got hit with:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98)
Each time it had the same User-Agent (UA). It came from the following IP's:
126.96.36.199 - Reverse DNS: bw1.search.scd.yahoo.com
188.8.131.52 - Reverse DNS: bw2.search.scd.yahoo.com
Anyone notice Google doing this with webmaster tools?
I may have one...I got hit with this on a URL I was removing via URL Console. The normal URL Console UA is: "googlebot-urlconsole"
It operates from the same IP block as the Google Wireless Encoder:
I got hit with a visitor on that IP block having the UA of "Java/1.5.0_04"...I thought that was odd to come from Google. I've never seen Google using a Java UA. It came shortly after URL Console had visited and it was teh URL I was removing. Thoughts? Anyone with similar experience?
