How do we go about calculating non-brand market share?
Here's what I've tried and failed with already:
- Hitwise - The data here is very hard to make head or tail with. The data includes tabbed data and session data, which means that if you've found a site via a search term + you open another tab and search for 'facebook' this will be in your data set, which is very annoying and very hard to get rid of
- The other way is looking at the market, but how do I know the total number of searches and how they are split via different companies in the market?
Further, it needs to be separated into non-brand because brand data is not viable for sourcing market share.
It's a tricky one and could do with some help answering the question!
