Say we wanted to create a site for every county in the US. Which would get better search rankings, the craigslist method of
county.craigslist.org
or a different method of
craigslist.org/county
The last option would be unique url's for every county, but then all the sites would appear separate from each other and not benefit from the master domain.

It seems subdirectories are the way to go from an SEO standpoint. It's what I found from my research, but I can not edit my first post.
