Can WOT affect your rank in search engines? sleidia msg:4279070 7:43 pm on Mar 9, 2011 (gmt 0) Hi, I've recently discovered that, for a strictly unknown reason, my website's URL has been submitted to WOT (Web Of Trust) with a very poor trust rank. I didn't even know of WOT before I decided to install the LinkExtend plugin for Firefox. Anyway, are there major search engines that use the WOT ranking out there? On a side note, I find this system totally stupid because it allows all your competitors to make you look bad.

There are apparently known problems with the WOT rating system and I am unaware that any search engine uses their rankings as any significant part of their overall algorithms because it can return very innacurate ratings in certain circumstances - so I wouldn't worry. However, of course, if anyone knows differently, perhaps they can let us know.

I had people give me bad security ratings because they disagreed with my opinions (and said so in the comments), so obviously it can be easily cheated and isn't worth much. sleidia msg:4279148 9:34 pm on Mar 9, 2011 (gmt 0)
Thanks for the replies. I even considered asking them to remove my domain name from their database but these idiots make the process very bothersome. Anyway, I just want them to leave me alone :)
