Value of Domain Name in Search Engine Rankings
Does it help to have the domain the same as the keywords?

I have a domain name I had been sitting on for about 10 years. It's a good dotcom domain that several people tried to purchase from me. I turned down those offers because I knew I would eventually get around to getting a site launched. That time has come.

Hypothetically assume the domain is greenwidgets.com

Green Widgets is a popular search term.

Can I expect that by launching my site on the topic of green widgets and having the greenwidgets.com domain that I will enjoy some type of "bonus" status (for lack of a better term) when it comes to my ranking on various search engines?

I would say yes it will help you a bit but if it's a competitive area it's no guarantee for easy ranking.
