Text or productlinks in the top section of my code?
Is it better to place the products or text at the top of my code

Hello,

I have a webshop and recently made a new design. I have yet to code it to xhtml/css and was wondering if it is better to place my productboxes or the page text at the top of my code? Visually the productboxes will be at the top.
Don't know if it's better to place links to my bestselling products or the page text at the top.

The productbox is an imagelink, a small description and the price.

I was also wondering if it helps to put the header lower in the code and make it appear on top with css.
I ask this because I was told that having your most important content at the top of your code is a big factor for seo.

I find it weird placing my header at the bottom of my code and am a bit scared it might confuse search engines.
Don't they expect a logo and header on top?
Or does this all don't matter that much?

Gr,

The search engines are pretty good at parsing pages these days. Some of the old SEO tricks have little meaning these days. It is difficult to go wrong with properly coded, semantically correct pages. What few "magic bullets" once existed are pretty much gone the way of the dinosaurs with today's SE's.
