| IDNs domain names don't get PR. Better to use unicode or punycode?

I am thinking to use IDN domain name with Japanese characters. But the problem is that no IDN domain name has any page rank. Why is that? Does that mean I won't get as much traffic from searches as I would get if I would use a normal domain name? The reason that IDN domains probably have little Page Rank is that they are both new and will have, I expect, few links to them from authoritive sites. However, you may get more information by posting your question in either the Domain Names forum [webmasterworld.com] or Asia/Pacific forums [webmasterworld.com].

Thank you, I will post also there. It is not that they are new. I get easily PR3 for a website which is only 3 month old and has really little traffic. But there are more than 1 year old websites which are in serp on the first page for keywords which have more than 1 mio searches. So they must have many links but still no PR. I haven't found even 1 single IDN with any PR, even PR 1.

Personally, I haven't checked Page Rank for years on any site. All smoke and mirrors a far as I am concerned! Just an indication of link authority.
