Possible CSS opacity and display issue
Am I in danger of being penalized by search engines?

I just installed a news scroller which uses a series of divs set to display:hidden and opacity:.0 in its CSS. It uses Java to fade them in and out. Could search engines see these hidden divs as an attempt to manipulate?

I'd say it's unlikely that this would create any problems. Are these divs within your actual HTML? A better approach would be to use javascript to manipulate the existing HTML, without actual adding any code to the page itself (or additional CSS), since the content appears only to those with javascript.
