How NOT to promote yourself!

So, I'm remodeling a bathroom. Somehow, didn't ever decide on a toilet, but decided I shouldn't just leave it to the plumber and say "get me a toilet".

So, I search for the site of the company my plumber recommends for toilets.

I had to chuckle at the Google summary:

AsleepAtTheSwitchPlumbing USA
Specializing in domain name registration, web site hosting, design and programming. Includes a tips and techniques area. Based in West Haven, Connecticut.
www.AsleepAtTheSwitchPlumbing.tld/ - 3k - Cached - Similar pages
Residential Toilets
Product List
Contact Us

The home page is in Flash. Apparently, nobody thought about what search engine spiders would see. Or, maybe they did.

It's interesting that even so, they get the full site map treatment in their listing. Clearly, Google has figured out that it's a major site in it's field, and doesn't seem to be bothered that the "bulk" of the site (pun intended) is about toilets, but the home page seems to be about web hosting and domain registration.

Then again, maybe it makes PERFECT sense! :)
