Key Word/Phrase Domains
How do I use them for SEO

I am a very new webmaster and still learning.
My site has basic meta-tags optimized to search terms. I have also submitted my site to 500 directories. That is it.

What next?
Well I was thinking I should get a bunch of applicable keyword domains. I understand that they have value because linkers use the name in the link. That is about all I know.

Is it enough to submit all these domains to lots of different directories? How else do I get links to this sort of thing (I know paid links risk Google punishment)
Then what do I do with the domain? It can't just be a forward to my actual site can it?
I was thinking I could set up lots of simple pages saying "Welcome to my my site", with an enter button. But this seems kind of dodgy. Is it?
Also, people tell me not to alias so I can't use these domains for that can I?

Any help would be super appreciated. Sorry if these are very basic questions.

Thanks

Work on promoting your main domain, all those gateway pages won't help you.

You've apparently been reading up on all of the ways that people call "fast and easy", unfortunately theres no such thing if you want sustained success.

I wouldn't do ANY of those things, I don't even submit sites to any directories besides the odp. Instead read up on proper alt tags and proper link titles next.

To build solid traffic, first build solid pages with solid content - anything else is a waste of everyones time.

Hey mdauseo, welcome to WebmasterWorld!

So, hehe, there may be a good middle ground between submitting only to the ODP, and submitting to 500 directories. ;-)

There are still a handful of good, quality large directories out there. There are also many good niche directories and niche sites with good resource pages (not the same as recip links pages).

Other than that, what JS_Harris said.
