when you have all your page links on a navigation bar, on every page in your site, will this effect your ranking.

for example if you have 200 pages, and each page has links to every page on your navigation bar.....is this a bad thing?

So every page on on your site with the search engines, show you have 200 links of your own pages linking back on every page....is this bad with the search engines?

thanks,
Jacob

While I can't say for sure how much having every page linked to every other page will affect your ranking, Google has said in the past that it's probably better to have fewer than 100 links per page.

Google also suggests doing things that benefit your users. I'm not sure how useful having all those links on every page benefits the users because with so many choices, people start acting like deer in the headlights, and don't make a choice.

You might want to read this thread [webmasterworld.com] and then this one [webmasterworld.com] which describe Information Architecture, and how to use it properly to guide users around your site.
