RSS images and hot linking code ntbgl msg:3950784 10:51 pm on Jul 11, 2009 (gmt 0) I have an RSS feed for my website which has images alongside text.
I use a script in my .htaccess file to prevent images from being hot linked.
Am I shooting myself in the foot for this combo, since I don't know how my feeds will be parsed and used? Will my embedded images not show for people who use RSS readers?
Is this a bad combination that I need to address, or am I over thinking this?

Hotlinking protection will block those images from being shown outside your domain (or it will limit it to the domains you list in the .htaccess file). Those images will not show up in online aggregators or sites that choose to syndicate your RSS content.
