I thought this was a common feature of feed aggregators, but it looks as though it's not supported at all by Google Reader. It is supported by FeedDemon (now free), and NewsGator.

Thanks, Bill. I took a quick look at both of those earlier and didn't notice it being in their features list. I'll check them out tomorrow.

Close, no cigar. Since WP's authentication is cookie-based those won't handle it. I'll have to come up with a different solution that is easy enough for these dullards to use.

hmm... I don't use WP so I'm not sure what you can do exactly, but couldn't you publish the feed to a password protected directory outside this cookie authenticated site? Then you could still keep the feed secure and still use many of the popular aggregators out there. Even FeedBurner has a password protection option you could use...

I was going to check into trying to publish it outside WP. I'm completely new to publishing feeds so have some reading and catching up to do. Will also check Feedburner and see what possibilities are there. Thanks again, Bill.

Let us know how you handle it. There are plenty of WP users here, and I'm sure someone would find your solution helpful.
