HEllo Friends,

Please advise me on the legal aspects of displaying RSS content on one of our Site. As many of you may have noticed, the RSS content mostly opens under the Parent site's banner. Please help me out whether that could give rise to some legal issues.
Our Programmer is of the opinion that RSS content sent by websites for the very purpose of display on various websites, with a link back to the parent website.

Any advice will be helpful.
Thanks for your Time.

Regards

Prawin

Legal issues like that will vary from country to country.

It is, however, reasonable to assume in most cases that what is in the feed is intended as a "taster" for the originating website.

Pretty simple..

Almost every RSS feed is provided for private use only. The moment you place that feed or feed content on a website you have violated the terms of service and/or copyright..

Your programmer is wrong and is not likely qualified to provide that type of advice. Consult an attorney familiar with the internet to define your exact liability exposure.

The list of companies and individuals that got into expensive legal trouble is thick with issues that their "programmers" have said was ok to do....
