Would you want to list your category and tag pages in an xml web sitemap. They are an important part of website structure so that would lead me to say yes, but at they have noindex tags on them so it seems contradictory. Thoughts?

Since when do all websites have noindex tags on their category pages? Mine don't. If yours do, then yes, there is no reason to include them in your sitemap.

Why would you want a noindex metatag on your category pages anyway?
