I am using the 2.7 version of wordpress. I also have a plugin called xml-sitemap generator. It is supposed to be for a better google reading. I have some issues on what to tick and what not to tick for site map content. Is there anyone that has any suggestions?

Youtube has several videos that discuss this plugin. You can search for wordpress sitemap plugin.
This plugin will not deliver "best page ranks". This plugin only makes it easier for search engines to crawl your pages. Wordpress is already easy for search engines to crawl since the pages are already interlinked.
In my experience when working on a wordpress site it is more important to work on duplicate content issues and having relevant links between posts. As for acheiving "best page ranks" that comes from link development. Good luck.
