Robots.txt and pointing domains

Ok, the situation is a bit weird but we're wishing to upload a robots.txt file to a domain name that's pointing to another site. Would the robots.txt file be accessible from the pointing domain's url and would it possibly affect another site?

This depends on your server configuration.

Why not upload a test robots.txt (with commented-out entries) and see if you can access via your browser?
