|PubCon, the premier new media and optimization conference and expo, has announced that popular technology broadcaster and noted online personality Leo Laporte will present a kickoff keynote address at PubCon Las Vegas 2011 on November 8 - 10. |
Emmy-winner Laporte, host of the nationally-syndicated “The Tech Guy” program on more than 150 radio stations and XM Satellite radio, will captivate both old fans and new with his unique take on search and social media in a must-attend keynote this November at PubCon Las Vegas 2011.
Broadcaster and journalist Laporte has been a frequent guest on numerous television and radio programs including over a dozen visits on “Live with Regis and Kelly,” and he has also appeared on NPR's “All Things Considered,” the “Today” show, and various programs on CNN, CNBC and MSNBC.
Although Laporte's tech roots run deep and include operating one of the first Macintosh-only computer bulletin board systems, and early stints programming for PC, Macintosh and CP/M computers, it was his work hosting two shows on TechTV from 1998 until 2004 — “The Screen Savers” and “Call for Help” — that first brought his keen industry insight worldwide recognition and notoriety.
Laporte is the founder of the successful TWiT.tv and TWiT Live (named for his “This Week in Tech” program) podcasting and live video networks, and his TWiT Netcast Network regularly produces several of the world's most popular podcasts, including “This Week in Google,” “The WEEK in TECH,” “Windows Weekly,” “Munchcast,” “net@nite” and others combining to attract more than 5 million unique downloads and over 500,000 listeners each month.
Laporte, who also hosts the daily hour-long television show “The Lab With Leo,” will share his rarely-rivaled and never duplicated brand of digital technology expertise with PubCon Las Vegas 2011 attendees this November, in a keynote address that will kick off the week of optimization and new media exploration that is known as PubCon.
Laporte, who counts more than 330,000 Twitter followers among his fans, is sure to be a great addition to PubCon Las Vegas 2011, the top search and social media event of the year.
Join Laporte and more than 200 other technology leaders including CNN.com SEO coordinator Topher Kohan, Disney SEO manager Jeff Preston, and the Wall Street Journal's in-house SEO Alex Bennert, at PubCon Las Vegas 2011 for a week-long look at the future of social media, search and online marketing.
“We're happy to have Leo Laporte at PubCon Las Vegas 2011 for a very special kickoff keynote address,” said Brett Tabke, founder and chief executive of PubCon and WebmasterWorld.com. “Leo brings a lot to the table, and with his fascinating and inspiring takes on the latest professional trends in the world of search and social media, we're sure PubCon attendees will be in for a rare treat from this bold innovator,” Tabke added.
