|PubCon Announces Dates For Las Vegas 2011 - 7-11 November|
| 6:21 pm on Jan 26, 2011 (gmt 0)|
PubCon, the premier optimization and new media conference, has announced that its PubCon Las Vegas 2011 event will take place on November 7 - 11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada.
November 7 will feature a full day of PubCon Masters Group search and social media training, with the official PubCon Las Vegas 2011 conference taking place on November 8 - 10, followed by a special November 11 all-day in-house search engine optimization (SEO) training program. The PubCon Las Vegas 2011 exhibition hall will be open on November 9 - 10.
“We expect PubCon Las Vegas 2011 to be the largest week of search and social media gatherings ever, topping even PubCon's record-setting 2010 Las Vegas event, and plan to bring together more speakers, more sessions, more sub-conferences-within-a-conference, and more exhibitors than ever,” said PubCon founder and WebmasterWorld Inc. chief executive Brett Tabke.
“Thousands of the savviest new media minds will descend on PubCon Las Vegas 2011 and make it the center of the technology universe for a full week during November, filling the massive Las Vegas Convention Center south halls,” added Tabke.
Registration is now open for PubCon South at Austin 2011 conference, which will be held in Austin, Texas on March 8 - 9, with a PubCon Masters Group search and social media training day on March 7, and registration information for PubCon Las Vegas 2011 will be announced in the coming months.
PubCon information is available at www.pubcon.com.

thanks engine, a quick browsing for cheap hotels gave me the Sahara Hotel for that time period for 170 Euro for a whole week, is it really that cheap?
It says that hotel is close to the Monorail, so easy access to the convention center...

That does seem cheap. The Sahara is one of the older hotels and it may need to reflect that in its prices. Having said that, there are thousands and thousands of empty rooms in LV and they know that if they can get you to stay the night, you might spend money in their casino. I know that some pubcon attendees stay there.

I've stayed in the Sahara several times over a bunch of years (including pre-PubCon) and liked it for various reasons, but last year I felt it had changed significantly for the worst.
In the past, it was kind of a folksy touch of old Las Vegas that I liked much better than some of the larger, glitzier, more pretentious hotels on The Strip.
It's on the monorail, and it was also a nice walk to the convention center in the morning if you like to walk. It also had good help and was more personal than the bigger hotels... had nearby mom & pop ethnic restaurants that were really good and reasonably priced, away from the crowds and tourist traps of the Strip. I quickly got to know the maids, the people in the coffee shop, at the concierge desk, etc, and I got personalized service.
This last November, though, I was appalled. The hotel is on hard times, has cut down many of its inhouse amenities, and apparently has outsourced much of its staffing. Service was awful, and the coffee shop was being shut down the week I was leaving. Sorry to say that I wouldn't recommend it for next year unless price is a really big factor.

Got that right.
I'm absolutely going to try to make this one. This is a smart bunch and I'd like to meet a few of them.
I believe I'll hit the crap table while I'm out there too.

FYI - I was just in Vegas for NAB and was told the sahara is supposed to close in May 2011 - I didn't verify that but I would be surprised if you can stay there after May
The sahara is one of the oldest remaining hotels in vegas.
