A "niche authority" has evidence of credibility but may not necessarily offer quality results (e.g., covers some but not all of the issues in a search query). A "quality authoritative" site gives good results for a search query AND shows evidence of credibility.
A site with "quality results" meets the requirements of the user’s search string (and other SE critieria), but it doesn’t necessarily indicate that the site listed has a history of offering credible information.
