Slightly off-topic in that I did not use bingiton for a current test. I just used two browser tabs.

I needed to find some information quickly, and I wasn't immediately finding it in Google. At that point, I generally open Bing, and I compare both engines as I refine my search. In this case, when I did that, the query that ultimately proved helpful was in the form...

The software, I should add, is designed to make widgets.

- I couldn't find anything even applicable in the first 50 results on Bing.

- On Google, the first applicable result, which also turned out to give me a useful answer, was #11, from... I hate to say it... eHow.

Brandname authority is distorting results on both engines... making it almost impossible to do any kind of research involving a brand.
