Over the past decade, I've made a very comfortable living on the web. During that time, Google probably provided the lions share of traffic. During that time, I also spent around 10% of my annual income on the Google Adwords program. I'm not saying it's a contract, because it certainly is not, but I'd consider it an IMPLIED contract after all this time. I think that's why many of us who have trusted Google and who we've tried so hard to convince them to trust us, now feel betrayed.
What's laughable about all this is that Larry Page pleads for user love, then shortly thereafter jumps in his Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and runs over those who have supported Google for so long.
Nice move...unfortunately, in my book at least, "passing the joy" is not a recipe for success. I've already passed the joy of my former engineering job to some guy in Asia.
