---- HitWise: Bing Busts Through 30% - Takes Share from Google

First of all, let's congratulate the Bing team for doing such a superb job at eating Google's market share.

I know Google since the early beginnings. I had even seen their first start page on my screen in spring 1998, with beta and all, and I am, like most in this thread, not a big supporter (to put it mildly) of them any longer. Back in the days when I had been able to successfully use Adsense (c. 2005) this was different. But at some point their behaviour had changed, and I realized that they really did not care for us webmasters at all. Then came all the data protection issues, their weird customer service on the Adwords side, and it was over for me.

I removed Adsense from my sites, I switched to Bing as default search engine, and I recommended it to friends, family and business partners. I have never looked back at Google as a search provider at all.

I realize that Bing might be different in a couple of years should they manage to get enough market share. Let's cross that bridge when we get to it. Right now it is good and useful that at least one company takes up the fight with Google.

(BTW, I do have a bag of ideas for Microsoft to give an additional boot to Google. If someone from Microsoft wants to discuss those ideas, just sticky me please.)
