the hardware isn't "clearly" superior. Perhaps the OS is better but that's a massive debate.

That being said, I'm a huge mac + google fan but I changed my default search engine to bing for awhile. I didn't feel worse off in doing so, in part, because I still had tight integration with many other google products that also let me find information (youtube, maps/street view, partial google voice integration etc.,).
