I know I'm new here, but I wanted to vent a bit - so if this has been covered and I missed it, please forgive me. ;)
OK, so we sell hair and assorted beauty products (if it's taboo to mention what you sell please let me know!) and one of the main sellers in our line of business is Shampoo and Conditioner. I was surprised when testing a new line that I added to see how it ranked in google shopping when I got a "Your search - 'Brand-X' Shampoo - did not match any shopping results".
At first I thought, maybe this was just obscure enough brand to return that result. (it happens) So, I tried it with a very well known brand of ours, and got the same result. I was really taken aback for a minute. I tried just the term 'shampoo' - nothing.
I then thought something HAS to be broken from when G started monetizing shopping results - like they forgot a period somewhere in their code, so I dropped a line in chat to notify them.
I was shocked (ok, not shocked - 'because the big G NEVER goes down' - /sarcasm), when ,after confirming that sub-category was down, the lady on the other end told me that G was doing some testing and found that category 'not to be relevant' (or some version).
I replied that that was like having a query on 'motor vehicles' and thinking that 'pickup trucks' was not relevant. - of course she said there's nothing she could do, so I said 'well, what am I supposed to do?' - "You can always fill out a complaint form" - so I did.
*Note - yes, we have a rep - a new one that I'm not familiar with yet, but even then, I have found the reps previous (barring a few) to be inept, and have often got better results using the 'Russian-roulette' method ;p *
So, the day I get an email from someone in complaints telling me how I was wrong and that 'Shampoo & Conditioner' was up and working correctly and pointed me to G's Product Taxonomy page as 'proof'. :rolleyes:
I replied with screenshots and fancy arrows (and URLs!) to show that no, it is not 'UP' and if G has found it 'irrelevant', why even have the link?!? (I was cordial, mind you)

**note 2 - this is also affecting my PLAs as far as I can tell - terms with 'Shampoo' and/or 'Conditioner' for well-performing campaigns (brands) are not showing as they used to - and this goes for my competitors as well - so it's not like I'm being treated unfairly - it's really the customer.**
Well, it's been a couple days and no reply ... we'll see
