I too have set my expiration date at 1 year from now and have not had any problems. I do notice that in GBase it does say my items will expire after 31 days. I am unsure as to why there are 2 methods to adjust the expiration date, where one trumps the other. My only thoughts as to why this exists is to set multiple expiration date values of less than 31 days for multiple products (in bulk).

prod a- expires 2-28-07
prod b- expires 3-3-07
prod c- expires 6-30-07
