Call me paranoid, but do realize that as great of a se Google may be, it is run by corporate America. And who could blame them if that's what they did? If I called the shots at Google I would have my Froogle pay for performance ads/web pages come back first in all the shopping keywords/phrases/terms. I understand 40% of the sales on the web start with a buyer clicking on an affiliates link. 40% is a hefty chunk of the pie. Google is already being compared to the MicroSoft of the web. Just wait and watch...
Personally, I believe it is a sign of things turningfor the worst for those of us who are the "click here! Buy this!" types. Google, and other that catch on to Froogle, could so easily make their own pay for performance advertising the first 100 pages of search results that the rest of us would never be found. I believe that Froogle is "writing on the wall" for things to come. Beta it maybe... for now, it's new. In a year or two what will it evolve into? A hideous monster that runs affiliates off the web?
