I'm the #1 search result for my site and the most common search for it's content.
However, the title and description are old and not as refined as I would like. I changed the "description" below the link to a question instead of a definitive statement. I did this so people don't get the answer they're looking for just by looking at the link and search description. Now they need to click to get a full answer.
My question is: can altering things like the title and description -- EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU ARE MAKING IT BETTER -- completely screw you over?
Has this happened to anyone?
My feeling is it is BEST to LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE sometimes.
I'm just wondering how FRAGILE these things are and whether Google is known to just screw over sites for little changes like this.
