as phranque has pointed out, if you don't want the page cached then noarchive tag is the way to go - and btw why would you want your page cached in any situation?

but be aware that 'indexed' and 'cached' are 2 completely different things.

if you don't want the page indexed (eg included in the google search results) then noindex meta tag is what you need to use.

to clear it up in case there is confusion, the google cache is google's copy of your page which anyone can look at by clicking the 'view cached version of this page link' in the search results.
disallowing google from caching your page does not prevent google indexing it.
