Thank you Fotiman for figuring this out for me.

Solution:

The image that was bleeding through from the underlying window had a Z value of 2147483647 so I added the following to the dhtml window script:

this.zIndexvalue=2147483647;

This did the trick! Thanks again Fotiman.
