I think Webwork is being sarcastic.
A while back the interwebb thingy sold itself to Joe Public as an information-interconnect portal for all who could connect - find all the information or products you could ever need online.
That is, those-in-the-know were selling it as such.
Turns out, rather than being a ugalitarian free for all, it's actually a hierarchical-based chronologicaly-biased system, which I guess we should have noticed in the first place. "This is great, look at this here" etc etc
Meanwhile, back in the real world, businesses are wising up to the www promise, realing a website does not equate to a "world wide portal", a shopping site, it's at best a brochure, unless you're employing a www-affiliate-junkie. Plenty of them here I summise, hence the drop in 'post' quality
