Yikes! I've made every job (and employer) my fun park. I put in the spark, put in the time and showed the value of the wage they SHOULD pay me... and if they didn't, after having showed the value brought to the table after a reasonable length of time in saddle, I give them the two weeks notice.
ONLY THEN do I move on.
The world is such an iffy place these days one should think carefully before walking away from a paycheck.
That said, if there is no joy in the job, get a different job, or a rejuvenated attitude toward work. Reality is, if your play can serve as work, best of all worlds, else, your work needs to stay out of the way of your play.
