I once made a tray of hash cakes and took them into work. The ruddy area manager arrived, and the cashier - who knew what they were - offered one to the AM.
He then waited for him to finish it before telling him what was in it.
I got a bit of a b0llocking for it, and was asked not to bring them in again.
Although, he did ask for the recipe. :)
Since then on till I retired, it was straight cakes. Boring, but no rollocking.
