I saw one back in the mid 90's but certainly not as spectacular as this and no sonic boom, still very impressive. If I recall it landed on some guys house in NY state and was about the size of a basketball. We were far from where it was at, it kind of streaked across the horizon and then went behind the tree line. It was really similar to the Russian videos in that it started out small and then got really big and bright. It looked so close you were almost expecting to hear a crash. This was at night. It was a gaped mouth "did you just see what I just saw" moment, we were actually wondering if it might have been a plane or something like a satellite. Wasn't until the next day it was reported in the news we found out what it was.
