It's the right-to-left marker. That's why it caught my attention.
You can trace the development of spam blocking by the type of subject headers you get. It's been quite a while since I've seen much in the range of "the info you requested". But I get a lot claiming that someone on such-and-such social network has sent me a private mail. Luckily they never bother to include the torrent of images that a real e-mail would have. Or even image-sized blank spaces.
