Every episode of Star Wars, every episode, features a different character shouting that phrase. Even Senator Organa had his turn [youtube.com], at the Jedi Temple, lol. It's funny and annoying at the same time. Obi Wan, Luke, etc., they all had their turn shouting NOOOoooo!

Nothing wrong with retiring, which is what GL is doing. Star Wars was a good story but it was also a financial venture. No sellout. Just business, right?
